Product Details:  Unveiling the essence of Tuscany in a glass, the Michele Satta Piastraia is a captivating red wine that embodies the artistry of winemaking and the richness of the Bolgheri terroir. Tasting Notes: In the glass, the Piastraia exhibits a deep, garnet hue, hinting at the concentration and depth within. The nose is a sensory journey through the Tuscan landscape, with aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and a subtle hint of Mediterranean herbs. Oak ageing imparts notes of vanilla and a touch of spice, adding layers of complexity to the bouquet.

On the palate, the wine unfolds with a velvety texture and well-integrated tannins, providing structure and balance. Flavours of blackcurrants, plums, and a touch of leather dance on the taste buds, while a gentle acidity adds freshness and vitality. Clear, orange amber colour with a nose of rhubarb, rooty notes, liquorice, zesty citrus, and cinnamon spice. Sweet red berry fruit flavour with liquorice, citrus zest, rooty herbal complexity and underlying bitterness. Drier finish with pleasing herbal, spice, fruit and balancing bitterness.

Description: The aromatic and alluring flavour of a red bitter is relived in the pages of an old manuscript, full of secret formulas and recipes by the Dutchman Petrus Boonekamp and passed down from generation to generation.

A passion-coloured bitter, where selected natural herbs, capable of stimulating the appetite, are mixed with the bitter orange coming from Curacao Island  and the intense taste of fine, rigorously Italian citrus fruits.

"A blood bitter”, as defined by Boonekamp, definitely one of the first products in the category of liqueur-based aperitifs.
